Welcome to The Early Creer Researcher Hub, a community of Early Career Researchers working in the Humanities. Our goal is to provide a platform for discussion and exchange of ideas related to the life and work of ECRs. Here, you can find resources, read our blogs, listen to podcasts, and join the conversation. We invite you to explore our website and engage with us!
About The Early Career Researcher Hub
The Early Career Researcher Hub aims to provide a regular forum for discussion on all things relating to the life and work of Early Career Researchers working in the Humanities.

Our Story
We are: Charlie (who works as a lecturer on a fixed-term contract, with eight years of lecturing experience in the UK); Rachael (who has several years of experience in academic and related fields including lecturing, and currently working as a postdoctoral researcher); and Olivia (who has several years of work experience prior to beginning a PhD, which she is in the final year of writing).
Recognising how challenging it can be to work as an ECR, we decided to share our experiences (and sometimes our advice) by creating this site, our blogs, and our podcast. We discuss topics as varied as PhD applications and funding advice; starting a new research project; or how to get the best out of your academic writing. We aim to cover as many aspects of life and work related to being an ECR in the Humanities in the future.
We hope that you enjoy our content, and we would love it if you would get in touch with your feedback, questions, or suggestions about subjects that you'd like us to discuss in future.
